Although this day is not normally a pulse-pounding national day, Telford & Wrekin Council is encouraging everyone in the borough to take part in National Pothole Day on Monday 15th January and use the MyTelford app We encourage you to report potholes.

Join us on National Pothole Day and fill it!

The city's road maintenance team has been repairing potholes as part of its Pride in the Community program and will next week explain some of the myths surrounding potholes and invite people to join them in locating potholes. We plan to encourage them to let us know.

Councilor Lee Carter, Telford and Wrekin Council's cabinet member for highways maintenance, said: Over the past 12 months, he has repaired more than 3,500 potholes, but only 1,600 were reported. ”

“This is due to the proactive work of our team, and while we know that large-scale projects pose challenges in the short term, large-scale resurfacing schemes will improve road quality in the long term. It means safety.”

The 2023 National Road Transport Survey reveals Telford and Wrekin is officially ranked number one in the Midlands for customer satisfaction.

Working with highways contractor Balfour Beatty, the council is taking a 'right first time' efficient approach to remediating potholes, which means repairs last longer.

Councilor Carter added: “Residents are encouraged to get involved by reporting potholes they find and the council is excited that National Pothole Day will help even more people keep an eye out for potholes. I look forward to it,” he added.

Gareth Pegg, operations manager at Balfour Beatty Living Places, said: “We are proud to provide essential road maintenance services to Telford & Wrekin Council by leveraging our operations management hub to quickly process and carry out pothole repairs.

“Our dedicated teams work diligently in our network every day to deliver lasting and effective pothole remediation, demonstrating our commitment to service excellence and supporting the traveling public and our communities. maintains the regional road network for both.”

Reporting online via the MyTelford app will help you manage many other inquiries to council and monitor their progress.
